At Whitty’z Humble Auto Repair Shop, we can’t afford fast toys like this but we sure do love to “ooh” and “aah” at what they can do and we’re sure you do too! Before we begin, Koenigsegg is a Swedish hypercar manufacturing company that makes great looking cars that are extremely fast too!(Also, no regular Humble auto repair shop can work on their cars, obviously) One of their cars, the Agera can go from 0-62 (0-100km/hr) in 3 seconds!! Their newest project has been the Koenigsegg One:1. They claim this is the world’s first mega car.
Koenigsegg One:1
To start, the One:1’s weight to horsepower ratio is 1kg/hp. That’s as if you gave one horse to pull 1kg (2.2lbs), take a moment to think about how hard it would be for that horse. The One:1 is the only production car that has 1 megawatt of power. They named the Koenigsegg One:1, One:1 because of it’s weight to power ratio and also because of it’s one megawatt of power. The One:1′s 5.0-liter twin-turbo Koenigsegg-designed V8 puts out 1340 horsepower. I have no idea how they did it but they got 3x more power than a Mustang GT. It goes from 0-62 in 2.7 seconds! Everyone rants and raves about Bugatti and how great they are. But even top of the line Bugatti’s put out less horsepower (1,184 hp) than the One:1. So you have a skinny guy who’s a stronger runner than this heavier guy by about 33% who’s got a decent amount of power too, he’s just not as great as the skinny guy. The car’s shape is crafted to produce real downforce, meaning that not only will the One:1 accelerate more quickly than a Saturn V rocket. Parts that would usually be made of metal in this car are instead, made of carbon fiber. For example, the wheels are made of carbon fiber In high speed, it will produce more than 2 gs of cornering force at 160 mph, like a jet fighter. It’s top speed is 277mph! I would love to ride in one of these, but definitely not while it’s going that fast. By this time you’re probably thinking “That’s great and all but how much does this thing cost?”. Before you hear the price, we’ll give you some features it has: climate control, USB connection and power windows!! It’s approximately $2.8 mil. That’s 2.8 mil above my budget. Not to mention Koenigsegg is sold out, for good.
